The Petfood Industry Standards Council
The PFISC is a joint industry/MPI body
The objectives of PFISC are to:
promote the two-way exchange of information and views as a vital part of the consultation process;
provide comprehensive and balanced advice to MPI on matters relating to administration of petfood under the Animal Products Act regime; and
assist in the development of the MPI's policies and operational procedures in relation to the Animal Products Act and and Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act.
The Council consists of the executive of the Pefood Manufacturers Association plus representatives of MPI's Animal Products Group, Animal imports team, ACVM Group, Market Access Group and Verification Services.
