The story of ZIWI® Peak begins in Mount Maunganui in 2002 with our founder, Peter Mitchell. Peter had the goal of producing a pet food that combines the nutrition of a raw diet with the convenience of ready-serve dry food, to deliver peak nutrition to cats and dogs across the world.  

ZIWI® is the global leader and innovator of air-dried pet nutrition. Our purpose is simple: to bring joy and peace of mind to pets and their guardians. ZIWI® was positioned to capture the strong growth in the emerging “natural high meat” category that today dominates the global market in new pet food developments. Today, the company is growing at over 40% per annum, employing over 190 people globally and exporting to over 25 countries.
